Hinoki & the Bird - Emily + Yan

It was a foodie's absolute dream. Hinoki & the Bird in Century City is an amazing restaurant located at the bottom of Century tower, said to be the priciest condo tower west of the Mississippi. With dishes like Japanese curry arancini, lemongrass lamb sausage and Jerusalem artichoke soup, guests are bound to find one to fit their taste buds.

Emily and Yan met during their freshman year at Columbia University and were together for 5 years in New York City before a new business brought Yan to Jakarta and Emily headed to California for medical school. Fast forward to 2014, the couple were able to reunite in sunny Southern California.

Hinoki & the Bird offers a "travel inspired dining concept" and it fit perfectly with a travel theme seen through out Emily and Yan's rustic wedding. They incorporated details like their jet setting cake topper and leather luggage tag favors.

Bright pops of yellow were seen through the decor, including fresh yellow roses and succulents, hung delicately from the rows. Guests were also able to find their seats quickly by referencing the chalk seating chart.

Emily & Yan's ceremony space was then quickly flipped into the reception space as guests got to enjoy craft cocktails indoors.

The food. Boy oh boy, the food! I think we are all still drooling over the menu.

Guests were blown away by the transformation of what was once the ceremony space into a beautiful reception.

Yet what was most memorable about the night was the love shown by the bride and groom. From private little kisses to their cake cutting, they never took their eyes off of each other.
