Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel Wedding – Yi & Kevin

The DNTeam has seen our share of Southern California weddings, and some of our favorite venues are the beachfront properties that capture the beauty of the California coast. The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, a luxury beach resort located in coastal Orange County perches atop a 150-foot bluff with cascading views of the Pacific Ocean. Our lovely couple Yi & Kevin had their wedding celebration on the Gazebo Lawn complete with Brazilian guitarist, Gustavo Teixeira, followed by a reception in the Terrace Salon of this coastal property.

The couple’s wedding day was a classic white wedding with ivory and pastel floral arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, and more by Tustin Florist, with elegant details like hanging crystal accents and floating candles in ivory ribbon wrapped glass cylinders. Y&K also added personal touches to the details of their day with items like a fingerprint tree guest book and a personalized Chinese doll cake topper. Yi also added to the traditional flare of the day by changing into a colorful yellow qípáo with beautiful hand sewn sequin detailing.

The couple served their guests a decadent three-course meal with options of New York Strip Steak, Stuffed Free-Range Chicken Breast and Parmesan Crusted Pacific Halibut with the Ritz-Carlton signature Chocolate Lover’s Wedding Cake for dessert! Y&K’s guests also enjoyed a photo montage of their love story and ended the night with an evening of lots and lots dancing.  This group definitely knew how to celebrate!  Congrats, Yi & Kevin!

Palos Verdes Golf Club Wedding - Charina & Bobby

California’s sunny coast is an ideal location for golf courses, which consequently are also ideal locations for weddings! Our lovely couple, Charina & Bobby, had a traditional Catholic ceremony surrounded by family and friends at the Mary Star of the Sea Church, followed by a reception at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. The property sits on 214 acres of beautiful land with expansive ocean views in Palos Verdes Estates, a coastal neighborhood in Los Angeles.

The couple’s day was a beautiful blend of tradition and culture.  The Ceremony was filled with the Bride’s Filipino heritage, while the Reception tapped into the Groom’s Chinese roots.  And they even arrived in style in a gorgeous silver 1958 Rolls Royce to boot! The evening was festive and colorful… filled with Chinese guardian lion décor, Chinese handheld drum/rattles to welcome the couple’s entrance, Chinese paper lanterns, traditional lion dancers from the American Chinese Cultural Center, and even Maracas to honor the May 5th festivities on their wedding day!  The Bride’s wardrobe included jade jewelry and a beautiful red qípáo, a color of good luck!  The florals, provided by one of our favorite florists Bebuds Florist, were a classic blend of purples, pinks, ivory and reds, a perfect compliment to the bridal party’s purple inspired attire! To entertain their guests, the couple brought in a photo booth from Cheesy Photobooth for some fun and silly prints (complete with Chinese dragon props!) and also prepared a personal photo montage of their journey together.

The day, and evening, was filled with heaps of happy memories and traditional, yet personal flare.  As always, we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to share in the couple’s special day!
