The styling for the event was done by the wonderful Cassandra Sterns of Borrowed Blu who did a beautiful job decorating the reception with pastoral burlaps, vintage glasses and dishware, twine embossed vases and so much more fun pieces to create the perfect look! The owner of Hearstone Ranch also collects antique and vintage pieces and they incorporated some antique furniture, vintage signs and ornate cake stands for the Dessert Display. To top off the decorations for the celebration, Hilary's sister hand-made her one thousand origami paper cranes to bring one thousand years of happiness and prosperity upon the couple!
The smaller size guest list allowed us to set up a circle-style wedding ceremony... something we've always wanted to do! The couple entered into their vows to each other with their loved ones on all four sides of them – it was such an intimate and very personal wedding experience! Another great thing about weddings of a smaller scale is it allowed the couple to plan for more activities! Guests lounged at the cocktail hour, enjoyed games of bocce ball, challenged one another to croquet on the lawn and still had time to shimmy down on the dance floor. The couple also opted to have a Dessert Display with tasty treats from bakeries like Porto's for their guests instead of just having one traditional cake – a pretty sweet deal if you ask us!
We are always so glad to share in the joy of weddings and the DNTeam is so delighted to have been a part of this celebration! Pictures from the happy day follow below. All photos are courtesy of Leila Brewster Photography.
