It’s All in the Details

Over the years, DNT Events has witnessed so many creative, special, funny, or simply irresistible details that we had to share. Some are spins on common traditions, while some are totally unique. Find inspiration for your big day below, and share your favorite special touches in the comments!

*Rice Throwing: Instead of throwing rice, try something more fun. Our favorites are sprinkles and rose petals. Or, have a sparkler send off, which makes for spectacular photos!

*RSVPS: When creating invitations, have a line on the RSVP card for a requested song. This way, your music will reflect all of your friends and family's tastes, and it will get everyone excited to dance when their song comes on.

*Guest Book: Instead of having people write the same old “best wishes” line in a book you will stash away, have each guest write an idea for the bride and groom’s bucket list. Then, the ideas can be combined in a collage or display.

Other ideas are to have guests write their favorite memory of the bride or groom, give their best piece of advice, or have a Polaroid camera available so guests can leave a funny snapshot. The possibilities are endless, but being creative can lead to a much more memorable guest book and keepsake.

*Table Numbers: Write a different question on each numbered table card. Examples: What should we do on date nights?  What is your best advice for the bride and groom?  What is the one thing a married couple should do every day? Leave paper with space for each table guest to write an answer.

Alternatively, have each table number represent the couple’s anniversary (table 1 is first year anniversary, table 5 is five year anniversary and so on). Each table guest writes a note to be opened by the couple on that year anniversary.

*Love letters: The bride and groom exchange love letters and read them in private, immediately before walking down the aisle. Or, the groom writes a love note on the sole of the bride’s wedding shoes, which makes for an adorable keepsake.

*Something old: Wrap a piece of your mother’s wedding dress around your bouquet or adorn it with a locket of your parents' wedding photo. This is so special and meaningful to both mom and daughter.

*Funny pictures: Again, the possibilities are endless. Reverse bride and groom’s party pictures are especially hilarious.
