Trump National Golf Club Wedding – Evelyn + Barry

Evelyn and Barry took us back to the Trump National Golf Club in the spring. May is always busy month for us, and the beautiful coastline in the South Bay was where a lot of pretty weddings came to life this year. The cliffs of Rancho Palos Verdes is a happy place that makes nearly every wedding there perfection with the beautiful views and nice weather. E+B’s wedding was fun & stunning, yet simple and surrounded by classic elegance. With Rancho Palos Verdes Flowers’ white and pink florals, RedShoe DJ’s performance and heartfelt speeches and sentiments, this couple was able to craft a day truly special to them. Redondo Beach Historic Library Wedding – Kristen & Mark

Redondo Beach is one of the most beautiful beach cities in California, which means it is also a perfect location for a wedding! Kristen and Mark chose to have their wedding reception at the Redondo Beach Historic Library, just minutes away from the very famous Redondo Beach Pier, a landmark hot spot for locals and tourists to dine, shop, and take in breathtaking panoramic ocean views. The couple exchanged vows in front of their beloved family and friends at the Riviera United Methodist Church, just minutes away from the reception site.

When it came to customizing their wedding, K+M knew exactly how to do it!  Beginning with the wedding dress which was a couture design from Anne Namba, the gown embraced their Japanese heritage and the Bride's sash was made out of a beautifully ornate "obi" material.  The bouquets and boutonnieres also had beautiful little details like a festive mizuhiki cord.  For the Reception, the couple went traditional with their "ikebana-style" floral arrangements, but incorporated a modern & fun twist that included horsetail bamboos, mokara orchids, and other Japanese/Hawaiian motifs (like a raked rock garden) that made for a quaint miniature Japanese Garden feel.  Who else can pull off such beautiful and unique arrangements than one of our fave florists, BeBuds!

In addition to the warm ambiance of the room, K+M made sure their guests had plenty of activities to keep them occupied. They rented a foosball and air hockey table as well as a Ms. Pacman arcade game for their guests to enjoy. Guests also had the fun of capturing the evening in the photo booth, and as if that wasn’t enough, the dance floor was also packed all night!

When it came to really putting their personal touches into an event, K+M sure had the details down. The couple even swayed into their first dance as husband and wife to a recording of Kristen singing John Legend’s “Stay With You”! The down to earth & fun-loving couple definitely put their personalities into their wedding day, and we are so glad we were there to be a part of it!





Top 5 Predicted Wedding Trends for 2013!

The beginning of a new year marks the chance to start over new with a clean slate, and we are so excited to see what new wedding trends crop up in 2013!  While 2012 was a year marked with bright colors and Gangnam Style, we think that 2013 will be a move back towards formality and sophistication.  The Huffington Post recently published a list of their top 10… here are our favorite five!

#1: A Return to Formality.  Chargers, gold silverware and table crystals are making a comeback, and we love it! Formalities such as those add a touch of sophistication to weddings that have recently been lost in a whirlwind of new “modern” and more simple traditions.

#2: Lace & Neutrals.  As neutrals and lace are becoming more and more popular in the fashion world, it is only natural that they would be trending in the wedding world as well.

#3: The Peony.  “Soft, lush, romantic… the peony is the most-requested wedding flower for two years running now, according to Sayles Livingston of Sayles Livingston Design in Newport, Rhode Island”… and based on our own experience!  This flower is a perfect complement to the soft feminine neutral and lace trend above.

#4: Eye Popping Cakes.  It is becoming more popular than ever for couples to customize, customize, customize! The cake is one of the main visuals of any wedding celebration (once the cupcake tower was played out) and couples are encouraged to pour their personalities into their cake as an expression of themselves.

#5: Spotlighting Your Cultural Heritage. What is more important to the Bride and Groom than their family and cultural roots? More and more, couples are incorporating their cultural traditions, clothes, and foods to their wedding celebrations.
